I'm Mickie.
I live in Brooklyn,
and am a writer and
literary event host.

Currently, I’m the Events Director for Guernica, creating, booking, and hosting events, from panels and readings to a wine & books night. I also do interviews for the magazine. See all our upcoming events here.

I write many things, essays mostly, a lot of them personal and/or about the South, food & wine, and Southern foodways.
I also hold an MFA from The New School in Creative Writing, where I was a Creative Writing Fellow, and am working on a novel.

I write about wine and books for a project called The Buzzed Word, now a live series at McNally Jackson. See more at my wine page; to pitch me books or wines for review, my email is below.

I co-founded and co-host the New York writer's variety show, Same Page, every 2nd Wednesday of the month at KGB Bar. For submissions to that and the schedule of upcoming readings, see here.

By day, I'm a strategically-minded and creatively-driven copywriter with more than 7 years experience in the advertising and writing worlds, and work with an emphasis on rebranding.
